Reduce Mobile Phone Usage Health Risk

Cell phone technology has been around for a while, but the widespread and near constant use of it is relatively new. Science is still catching up; studies are still underway; health risks associated with increased usage are not clear. The question remains: do cell phones pose a health risk?

Until the answers are clear, consumers can protect themselves from potential harm by limiting exposure to radio frequencies which are absorbed into the body during phone usage. Though definitive evidence is still lacking, many users are concerned cell phone radiation can cause cancer or other serious health hazards.
Who’s Studying?
The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the US Federal Drug Administration (FDA), and the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are all studying this issue in the United States. The World Health Organization (WHO) conducts major studies in Europe. Why? Because more than four billion cell phones are in use in the world. If dangers exist, they’re widespread.
Specific Absorption Rate
Each cell phone has an electromagnetic field and Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) data. Scientists measure the SAR impact in cell phone users’ heads and bodies to determine risk and use that date to set acceptable levels for the phones. It is unclear what impact the low levels may have, but scientists do know that large amounts of radio frequency energy can reduce body temperature and damage tissues, particularly in the eyes and the testes.
Call Limiting Technology Reduces Risks
The fool-proof way to reduce your mobile phone radiation exposure is to reduce your talk time. New technology -- Call Limiter -- allows cell phone users to place self-imposed limits on talking time, resulting in better control of mobile phone exposure. One such software package, available through, allows cell phone account holders to preset time limits on phone calls – incoming and outgoing. Easy-to-use and adaptable to callers’ patterns and preferences, the inexpensive software can reduce radiation exposure without the addition of unproven and sometimes expensive cell phone filters and radio wave shields. Such shields and filters have not been tested or approved by the FTC. Call Limiter software is proven.
Call Limiter technology has an added bonus: not only will the user decrease radiation risk by limiting exposure through reduced talk time, but they will also avoid the risk of an unexpectedly large monthly bill.
